Pregnancy Support: What to Expect
When You Text

We know starting the conversation can be the hardest part of reaching out for pregnancy support. We welcome you to start the conversation however you want. If you’re feeling stuck, here are some ideas for what to say:

"I need help"

"I think I'm pregnant"

"I'm pregnant and I'm not sure what to do"

"I need some information"

Or just say "hi", and we'll take it from there.

If you text us during live text line hours (Monday-Thursday from 11:00am-8:00pm & Friday-Saturday from 11:00am-5:00pm):

We will respond and let you know the name of the person you are texting with, and how you can start or stop the conversation at any time.

We will ask you more about what kind of help you are looking for, whether it's pregnancy resource or information on contraception. If we already know the answer to your question, we will share it with you. If not, we will do some research and work with you to figure it out. Sometimes we can do that in one live text shift, and other times we might need to do some research and get back to you later.

For now, our hours are limited. But we can keep the conversation going during our live hours over multiple days until you feel like you have all of the information you need.

If you text us outside live text line hours:

You will receive a message letting you know the days and hours that texts are answered. In the meantime, we will provide you with some links to helpful information.

When the next live shift starts, a volunteer will be able to see that you texted and will answer your text during their shift.
